About Us

How Did We Get Into Bees?

We moved to Zellers Rd in Long Valley in 2004 and found ourselves knee deep in trying to find a good fit for our farmland use.  First we tried Sicilian Donkeys thinking everyone would want a companion to their beloved horse, but as the donkeys kicked into gear so did the recession and it was time to move on.  So then we planted our pasture with a crop of 500 lavender plants, my daughter Appolonia went all over trying to sell bundles and found herself discouraged at the reaction of local businesses, so we needed a new idea.  Then one day in 2012 my younger daughter Lucella who was 4 years old looked at me and said with a concerning face "you know mom if the bees die we all die". Well when a 4 year old says that to you, it really does make you think, so there it was, destiny- I guess - and so the story goes.  I am now a Beekeeper, and Lucella is a great assistant beekeeper.

Our Mission

Getting into bees was the first step, keeping them was the next, so over the last 14 years I have had my ups and downs, more downs that ups but it created who I am today.  Honey is fantastic but it was never my journey, pesticides and the fate of bees was.  So my mission is to teach people how to think like the bees, with intention on nature.  I ask for everyone to help in my mission by sponsoring hives, this is like you owning a hive with out the maintenance of keeping a hive.  Each year I create great events so my sponsors can celebrate the honeybee at the Apiary with me and my family.
